It’s been a while since our last update, so we want to reassure everyone that the Community Centre redevelopment is still moving forward—just a bit later than originally planned. If you live locally, you may have noticed that the Centre has been quieter than usual. That’s because we’ve been working closely with our tenants and regular groups to help them find temporary spaces. Many have already relocated, and we’re in the final stages of packing up to get everything ready for construction to begin.
We’re working hard behind the scenes to secure a temporary space for the community centre on Filwood Broadway, and hope to share some exciting news shortly.
The team at Bristol City Council started the tender process for a builder to take on the project back in July and we’ll be able to announce the successful team shortly. We're working closely with them to ensure the project meets our goals while staying within budget—a challenging but essential task! We’ll let you know as soon as we have a start date, and will continue to provide regular updates throughout the construction period.
